UHC 2015 Premium Payment Changes for Zero Premium Plans
With UnitedHealthcares 2014 Medicare Advantage zero premium plans in WA State under the AARP Medicare Complete name increasing their monthly premium for 2015, many current members are wondering how they will be paying their new plan premiums.
Members who were on one of the 2014 UnitedHealthcare zero premium plans will receive a monthly coupon book towards the end of December. If they prefer to pay via check, they do not need to take any action at this time. They would simply pay via personal check each month using these coupons.
Should the member wish to pay by Electronic Funds Transfer, or auto withdrawal from their monthly Social Security check, they can contact member services (877-699-5710) at UnitedHealthcare and set up these payment options. They may also visit: https://www.aarpmedicareplans.com/health-plans/medicare-advantage-plans/resources-plan-material/ma-medicare-forms.html to download these premium payment forms and submit them to UnitedHealthcare themselves.
For members who were already on a UnitedHealthcare plan with a monthly premium, they will continue to pay as they have in the past. For them, there is no action to be taken should they wish to continue this method of payment. Their EFT withdrawals via their personal bank account or through Social Security will increase to align with the new monthly premium for the 2015 plan. If they would like to change their method of payment, please refer to the prior paragraph.
For newly enrolled members on one of the 2015 UnitedHealthcare plans, their payment method would be whatever method this selected on their application at that time of enrollment.
